Established with a passion for engines and the marine industry, Japan Engine & Marine Pty Ltd was founded on the simple principle of delivering honest value and dependable products. What started as a small yard dealing in quality used outboards has grown into a well-respected supplier of both marine and automotive Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) engines.

John Thompson
With over 20 years in the engine industry, John is a highly respected name in Victoria’s marine and performance engine scene. His expertise covers everything from outboard servicing and repowering to full JDM engine imports and rebuilds. Known for his honest advice and attention to detail, John personally inspects many of the engines we sell.
Mark Thompson
Mark is our full-time workshop technician with 12+ years’ experience specialising in outboard motors (Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki & Honda). He performs all compression tests, servicing, and pre-delivery inspections. Customers frequently praise his thoroughness and clear explanations.
David Reynolds
David heads up our JDM engine division. With extensive knowledge of Japanese engines (2JZ, RB26, EJ20, K20, SR20 and more), he manages our direct imports from Japan, ensuring every engine is low-mileage, compression tested, and ready for Australian conditions.
